Doula is a Greek word meaning "woman's servant" The doula would be employed to assist the lady of the house through the child bearing year.

We are a team of Doulas serving the Calgary area. We are committed to providing support to women during their pregnancies and the births of their babies. The three of us come with a variety of life experiences from parenting to counselling, snow boarding to political science and just about everything in between. We are very open minded, excellent communicators and are excited to take on life's challenges.

As Doulas we have primarily supported women who are in loving relationships however, we have also supported women who are on their own. It is even within our experience to have supported women through an unwanted pregnancy - in such cases our support is provided to both the birth mother and the happy adoptive family.

Giving birth is undoubtedly one of the most profoundly intense and emotional experiences a woman can have. Each woman has different expectations and hopes for her labour and birth ranging from "Whatever happens...happens", to a specific birth plan that the expectant mother feels very strongly about. Wherever a woman may fall on this spectrum, we will endeavour to help create a satisfying birth experience.

We provide a full range of Doula services (labour support)
including: prenatal visits, continuous labour support (up to a few hours after the birth), birth photos, a written birth story and post natal visit. Post partum Doula services are available as well.
