Birth Services

Earthy Birthy Mamas are a team of Doulas. We share prenatal and post natal visits, as well as our on call rotation.

We are committed to helping families have natural child births.

We encourage drug free pain management techniques and believe that women's bodies are made for giving birth.

We also believe, women who feel prepared, safe, and supported, generally have a positive birth experience.

It is our practice for clients to meet each doula twice prior to the birth of their child.

It is our intention to support a family's birth experience and not to take over.

Initial Interview

• This is a time to discuss the birthing couple's philosophy and expectations, and to share ours
• We believe that a good match of Doula and family is essential

Prenatal Visits

We will:

• Discuss your birth plan, expectations and worries
• Look at comfort measures and pain coping strategies
• Discuss what to expect during labour, at home and at the hospital
• Answer any questions

We are available by phone and email to answer questions or talk about concerns.

Birth Services

• We provide continuous labour support from the time you decide support is needed until the arrival of your baby. We will come to your home or meet you at the hospital as you wish.
• We will support you and your partner, as needed, to promote your comfort and safety throughout the birth of your child
• We can assist with initial breastfeeding support

Doulas are not trained medical professionals and therefore provide no medical advice or perform medical tasks.

Postpartum Visit

We will:

• Provide an opportunity to discuss the birth of your child
• Bring a written copy of your child's birth story
• Cuddle your baby
• Share information on recovery
• Answer any questions
• Provide you an opportunity for feedback and evaluation of our services
